Walthamstow - Selborne Walk Shopping Centre
A MASSIVE fire swept through the shopping centre in the early hours one morning in July 2004
Around 100 firefighters tackled the blaze

Old Kent Road Fire Station

Built in 1903 and replaced an 1868 station on the same site.Disused as a fire station since 1971 and now  used as a second hand shop  (the largest antique fireplace showroom in the world)

North Finchley - Waitrose Supermarket burning down

This arson was  described by firefighters as the worst blaze in recent memory in the borough. The flames
spread quickly, destroying three quarters of the shop floor, and took 120 firefighters 12 hours to
extinguish using 20 fire engines.

Twenty fire engines rushed to the scene and 100 firefighters fought with the blaze.There was traffic chaos  as roads were closed and buses were diverted.
Three firefighters were taken to hospital with heat exhaustion.
